Zondervan and Seedbed sign new publishing partnership agreement

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Sept. 20, 2018 — Zondervan is pleased to announce a new publishing partnership with Seedbed, a twenty-first century movement and media platform whose mission is to gather, connect, and resource the people of God to sow for a great awakening. Seedbed’s growing reputation within the Wesleyan tradition, paired with the publishing reach and experience of Zondervan, will produce a co-publishing program poised to bring Wesleyan authors and content to the broader market.

Located in Franklin, Tennessee, Seedbed was established by Asbury Theological Seminary in 2012. Seedbed publishes an array of resources, including curriculum, Bible study resources, youth and college ministry resources, devotionals, video resources, books on Wesleyan theology, and more. Its primary authors are rooted in the Wesleyan tradition, including a broad spectrum of denominations and associations like United Methodist, Free Methodist, Nazarene, Wesleyan, Brethren, Anglican, the Vineyard Association, Assembly of God, and other charismatic traditions. Learn more at Seedbed.com.

“We are delighted to partner with Seedbed by bringing exceptional, Wesleyan-rooted voices to the larger church market and expanding the readership for these important books,” said Dr. Nancy Erickson, executive editor, Zondervan.

The focus for the Seedbed and Zondervan partnership will include four to six co-branded books each year on church leadership, ministry, and reflective topics for both church leaders and lay people. The first partnership books should begin releasing in late 2019.

“We are thrilled to be working with the gifted team at Zondervan,” said J. D. Walt, chief sower and visionary, Seedbed. “They share our vision to sow for awakening and will help take our publishing strategy to the next level. They are helping us see a further horizon.”

Seedbed organizes the rapidly growing, annual New Room Conference in Franklin, Tennessee, drawing more than 2,000 attendees, and creates several smaller gatherings in addition to the annual conference. New Room is a place where Christians sharing a common theological perspective can find common fellowship and a valuable resourcing platform. The goal of New Room is to be a community where individuals can remain true to their own traditions, while at the same time joining with passionate believers who share their hope for revival and their expectation that through the agency of the Holy Spirit lives can be powerfully and decisively changed. The 2018 New Room Conference is September 19-21, and features speakers Christine Caine, Scot McKnight, and Winfield Bevins. Learn more at NewRoomConference.com.

Moberg will continue to work on special projects, mentor key staff, and provide guidance and counsel to the Executive Leadership Team during transition.  In addition, he will continue to serve on the Board of Directors for the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association as vice-chair.  “This is an exciting time for both Brian and the company, and I appreciate the support shown to me throughout my career in publishing.  I am confident that Brian’s transition to group publisher will be smooth as he is more than prepared to take on this role.”
