10 titles across seven categories honored as finalists

Thirteen titles across eight categories honored as finalists

Lucado’s books are distributed in 80 countries and translated into 45 languages worldwide

(Nashville, TN) May 6, 2021—Bestselling author and pastor Max Lucado was awarded the 2021 Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) Pinnacle Award today for the outstanding contribution of his writing, both to the publishing industry and to society at large. 

Lucado is only the fourth recipient of this honor from ECPA, that recognizes the outstanding contribution by an author or book. It was presented at the ECPA Awards Celebration on May 6 at 1:00 pm CST, via webinar at the conclusion of the ECPA Leadership Summit.

Max Lucado‘s career highlights are unprecedented in Christian publishing. Lucado’s products have exceeded sales of more than 145 million. His books are printed in 45 languages and distributed throughout 80 countries worldwide (including the United States). He published On the Anvil, his first trade book, in 1985. His forthcoming title, You Were Made for This Moment, will release in September 2021 from Thomas Nelson. Lucado’s books regularly appear on bestseller lists, including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today. Max’s love for everyday people began during his childhood in the small town of Andrews, Texas. His father was an oilfield mechanic, his mother was a nurse. Long-time Zondervan senior v-p and publisher receives industry’s top honor

Nashville, Tenn. (February 24, 2020) — HarperCollins Christian Publishing (HCCP) congratulates senior v-p, publisher, and Zondervan editor-in-chief, Stan Gundry, for being recognized as this year’s recipient of the Kenneth N. Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award from the Evangelical Christian Publisher’s Association (ECPA), announced on  February 17, 2020. The award will be presented at the ECPA Leadership Summit on May 5, 2020 in Nashville, Tenn.

Recognized for his forty-year dedication to the Christian publishing industry as both a publisher and author of seven published works, Gundry’s name is synonymous with the Zondervan publishing program. Gundry joined Zondervan in 1980 to develop the Zondervan Academic publishing program, today one of the most highly recognized and world-renowned Christian theological imprints used in colleges, universities, and seminaries across the globe. Throughout his tenure, Gundry has acquired many leading Christian academic scholars including Wayne Grudem (Systematic Theology), Tremper Longman (Introduction to the Old Testament), D. A. Carson and Douglas Moo, (Introduction to the New Testament), Moises Silva (New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology and Exegesis), Willem VanGemeren (New International Dictionary of Old Testament Theology and Exegesis), William Mounce (Basics of Biblical Greek), Daniel Wallace (Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics), and John R. However, unbeknownst to me but providentially, everything in my background was leading toward and preparing me for something else – publishing. I am so honored that the ECPA has bestowed on me, the ‘accidental publisher,’ this prestigious recognition.”

The Kenneth N. Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a leader from within the Christian publishing profession whose lifetime of achievement goes above and beyond: leading with exemplary Christian character, initiating innovative programs and products, and contributing to the mission and advancement of the Christian publishing industry. Thomas Nelson fiction authors honored in five categories and hall of fame induction

(Nashville, Tenn.) November 8, 2019 — Thomas Nelson is pleased to congratulate all five of its fiction authors who received Christy Awards, including Patti Callahan for taking home the Christy Award’s top honor – Book of the Year for her novel Becoming Mrs. Lewis. The awards were presented by the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association (ECPA) at the 20^th annual Christy Award gala held at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN on November 6, 2019.

In addition to Patti Callahan’s Book of the Year honor, Thomas Nelson fiction author and five-time Christy Awardee, James Rubart, was inducted into the Christy Award Hall of Fame for his contribution to the craft.

Four other Thomas Nelson authors were recognized for their excellence in specific genres of Christian fiction, picking up Christy Awards in various categories.
