Louie Giglio outlines ways young readers can win the battle against spiritual and mental giants

New book helps kids and preteens understand how God can conquer the giants in their lives

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 14, 2020) – Louie Giglio, the original visionary of the Passion movement that has reached millions young people globally, now brings his message of courage and faith to kids in “Goliath Must Fall for Young Readers: Winning the Battle Against Your Giants.”

Today young people face more pressure and stress than ever before. Issues such as fear, anger, rejection, and anxiety can seem like giants standing in the way of the joy-filled childhood and adolescence parents desire their children to experience. In “Goliath Must Fall for Young Readers,” pastor Giglio shows kids that only God can help them defeat these giants.

“I have learned in my own life that the seeds of most of the giants I’ve faced in adulthood were planted when I was still a boy,” said Giglio. “I’m especially excited that boys and girls, young men and women, are going to be able to step into the power of ‘Goliath Must Fall’s’ truth and see Jesus give them victory over the seeds of fear and doubt and anger and rejection that the enemy wants to plant in their lives.”

Adapted for middle-grade readers from Giglio’s national bestseller “Goliath Must Fall”, this new edition addresses the common struggles kids today have with temptation, social media comparisons, friendships and anxiety. Young readers also will be engaged with call-outs and prompts to help them learn practical strategies to surrender their fears, overcome bad habits, and let go of superficial comforts that are falsely shaped by worldly pressures.

As a pastor, and as one who has ministered to young people around the world, Giglio understands the heartbeat of the next generation. Drawing on decades of experience helping them realize God’s calling on their lives, Giglio speaks with the grace and wisdom kids need to hear as they grow up.

Young readers will learn that they don’t have to settle for feeling stuck in their emotions or thoughts because the God who saved David from the giant Goliath is the same God who can save them today.

“Goliath Must Fall for Young Readers: Winning the Battle Against Your Giants”(ISBN # 9781400223633) will be available Oct. 27, 2020 in hardcover ($17.99) wherever books are sold.

About the Author:

Louie Giglio is Pastor of Passion City Church and the Original Visionary of the Passion movement, which exists to call a generation to leverage their lives for the fame of Jesus.

Since 1997, Passion has gathered collegiate-aged young people in events across the US and around the world, and continues to see 18-25 year olds fill venues across the nation in pursuit of lives lived for God’s glory. Nelson Books imprint will release a new book line in association with COMPEL

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) (October 1, 2020)—Thomas Nelson, alongside New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst, is launching a new publishing initiative that will mobilize the next generation of women Christian authors, through TerKeurst’s own COMPEL author training program. Recently, TerKeurst posted an initial announcement on her social platforms, as well as released a video with literary agent and manager, Meredith Brock, providing preliminary details about the publishing program.

TerKeurst and Brock will work together to identify and develop authors through their training program, then carefully select manuscripts to be presented to Thomas Nelson in a co-review process. Manuscripts that are further identified as commercially viable will be contracted and managed through Nelson Books, an imprint of Thomas Nelson. Books will be co-branded Nelson Books and COMPEL.

“This exclusive project will be the first of its kind for Nelson Books,” said Timothy Paulson, vice president and publisher of Nelson Books. “Lysa has been more than a bestselling author to our publishing family. She is a visionary leader who loves to teach others how to reach their goals and dreams of success. Lysa told us she wanted to help her community of women who have such incredible and inspiring messages that deserve to be read. The COMPEL book line is a concept that utilizes the strength of Lysa’s wonderful gift for writing and developing a resonating voice for her ever-growing readership, and the Thomas Nelson editorial, marketing, and distribution expertise to elevate new Christian authors, Bible teachers, and disciples of God’s Word.”

The first COMPEL training opportunity that has been designed for this new initiative—The Book Proposal Boot Camp—begins on October 18th and will be completed in January.  The COMPEL team will then begin their work alongside the Nelson Books team, with a goal to release its first book in the line in 2022.

About the Author:

Kathie Lee Gifford is the four-time Emmy award winning former co-host of the fourth hour of “TODAY,” alongside Hoda Kotb. After 11 years together, Gifford stepped down from that role to pursue other creative endeavors. The Gifford-Kotb hour had been hailed as “appointment television” by Entertainment Weekly, and “TODAY’s happy hour” by USA Today.

Prior to NBC News, Gifford served as the co-host of “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” for 15 years, where she received 11 Emmy nominations.  In 2015 Gifford was inducted into the Broadcast & Cable Hall of Fame. She has been chosen to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2020.

A playwright, producer, singer, songwriter and actress, Gifford has starred in numerous television programs and movies in her 45-year career. She has her own record label and has written several musicals including Broadway’s SCANDALOUS, which received a Tony nomination for Best Actress in 2012.  Gifford also starred on Broadway in “Putting it Together” and “Annie.” In the fall of 2018, she wrapped post-production on “Then Came You,” a film she has written, produced and starred in alongside Craig Ferguson. In April of 2019, she made her directorial debut with “THE GOD WHO SEES” the short film, shot in Israel and based on a song she co-wrote with Grammy-nominated Nicole C. Mullen. The song was nominated for a Dove award.

Gifford authored four NY Times bestselling books including “The Rock, The Road and the Rabbi”, “Just When I Thought I’d Dropped My Last Egg,” “I Can’t Believe I Said That,” and the popular children’s book “Party Animals.” In October of 2018, she released the children’s book, “The Gift That I Can Give” with all proceeds going to Childhelp. She also launched GIFFT, a line of wine with the Scheid Family Vineyards in Monterey, CA.

Gifford lends support to numerous children’s organizations including Childhelp, the International Justice Mission, and the Association to Benefit Children, which spawned Cassidy’s Place and Cody House, named after her two children.
