W Publishing promotes Meaghan Porter to senior editor
October 25, 2016—Nashville, TN—Meaghan Porter was recently promoted to the position of senior editor with the W Publishing Group. Porter joined Thomas Nelson six years ago as an associate editor. She quickly became a valuable member of the W Publishing team, bringing her professional skills to bear on some of W’s most important titles. Some of her favorite projects include Kenneth Bae’s Not Forgotten, Levi Lusko’s Through the Eyes of a Lion, Brant Hansen’s Unoffendable, Dana White’s How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind, and Julia Immonen’s Row for Freedom.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to see Meaghan promoted to the role of senior editor,” said Matt Baugher, senior vice president of W Publishing. “She has done an excellent job with the manuscripts we’ve given her. Meaghan has a keen eye for great writing, and it’s that instinct that will continue to serve her well with this increased responsibility.”
As a senior editor for W Publishing, Porter is responsible for managing manuscripts through a rigorous editorial process, including a meticulous review of manuscripts at the macro and micro level, to ensure a highly professional product that exhibits top-quality writing, grammar, and storytelling.
Porter earned her B.A. in English from Belmont University and her M.A. in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College in Boston. Previously, Meaghan worked for Pearson Education in Boston and the United Methodist Publishing House here in Nashville.
“I am so excited about this opportunity,” said Porter. “I love helping writers hone their messages, and it’s an honor to be able to partner with so many authors whose books are heart changing and life altering.”
